These ammonite earrings are handcrafted in sterling silver featuring a pair of natural ammonite halves- sliced down the middle and front polished. Each is set in a hand fabricated prong setting with an open back.

These prehistoric fossils are 240 - 65 million years old, and are a perfect example of the Fibonacci sequence in nature- sometimes referred to as the "golden spiral" or "golden ratio".

The ear wires included are handmade to mirror the spiral pattern of the ammonite. Rubber backers will be provided for extra stability. Need a different type of ear wire? Each earring measures about 30 mm (1.25 in) from the top of each ear wire, while the ammonite section is 16mm.
