Sea Lily Cuff
Sea Lily Cuff
This cuff bracelet features a specimen of a partial crinoid stem embedded in stone matrix. I found this fossil along the shores of Lake Michigan in 2022 and cut and polished it in my studio.
Also referred to as "sea lilies" when attached to the sea floor via the stem or stalk, crinoids still exist today although hundreds of species are extinct. These echinoderms are related to starfish and sea urchins.
The fossil specimen cabochon is set in a tabbed bezel on a wide, open cuff. On each side are artistic representations of what some whole specimens of fossil crinoids look like.
The metal used is solid sterling silver that has been oxidized and roughly tumbled to an ancient looking patina.
SIZE:
The width of the cuff is 1 inch, or 26mm. It fits a women's medium wrist or a men's small.
