This ring is part of my Lake Michigan Collection from 2018. It features three stones that were cut and polished in-studio: Leland Blue Stone, Petoskey Stone, and Fossilized Coral (Charlevoix Stone). All three are set in sterling silver with a thick, triple band.

The stone trio portion of the ring is just under one inch in length, and the ring band measures about a quarter of an inch in thickness at the smallest part.

About Leland Blue:

This type of slag glass is a byproduct of the iron smelting process in Leland during the late 1800's. Many different shades of blue are represented in this type of glass along with air bubbles and other unique impurities that give it character. These pieces have been naturally tumbled by Lake Michigan and washed ashore to be cut, polished, and made into these earrings

About Fossil Coral/ Petoskey Stone:

There are many different types of fossilized coral in the great lakes. Both of these pieces are favosites, but one is a type called "Petoskey Stone" while the other is sometimes called "Charlevoix Stone" or just "Fossil Coral".
